Pat Savage trained at Goldsmiths College School of Art and at the Royal College of Art Sculpture School where she specialised in wood carving. On leaving she continued to work as a sculptor and also illustrated books. She then taught art, which led to her learning batik. This resulted in her creating batik pictures and commissions for church altar frontals and hangings. Pat later learned to etch, but now works primarily with lino which she hand prints. Inspiration comes from the world around her, in peoples' everyday activities, the performing arts and literature.
