Archipelago - Handcarved Wooden Wren
This handcarved wooden wren by Archipelago perfectly captures thistiny brown bird which is dumpy, almost rounded, with a fine bill, quite long legs and toes, very short round wings and a short, narrow tail which is sometimes cocked up vertically. For such a small bird, the wren has a remarkably loud voice. It is the commonest UK breeding bird, although it suffers declines during prolonged, severely cold winters.
This beautfiful wooden wren sculpture is ideal for the bird lover and measures 17cm in height including stand. It is handpainted by craftsmen in a village in Indonesia which is famous for its centuries-old tradition of wood carving.
