Butler and Peach - Miniature Pair of Running Labradors in Cold Cast Bronze
Butler and Peach - Miniature Pair of Labradors Running in Cold Cast Bronze
This charming miniature pair of labradors running is made by Butler and Peach in solid bronze using the lost wax method. This bronze figure captures the movement of two labradors running perfectly. Their tails are up and they are bounding along having just jumped over a gate. Labradors are the most popular breed of pet dog in the UK and this is no accident. They make wonderful family pets and are gentle around children, not to mention their abundant talents as a guide dog for the blind or a gun dog. This small sculpture is 60mm high and encapsulates the boundless energy of these dogs.
Each minature bronze by Butler and Peach is presented in an elegant box with pouch and authentication certificate making it a stunning gift. This minature pair of running labradors is perfect for anyone who has ever owned or loved a pet labrador. These bronze pieces are easy to keep clean, just buff with a soft cloth or brush.
The lost-wax process, also called “cire-perdue” is a method of metal casting where a molten metal is poured into a mold that has been created using a wax model. Once the mold is made, the wax model is melted and drained away. A hollow core can be created by introducing a heat-proof core that prevents the molten metal from totally filling the mold. The lost-wax method dates from the 3rd millennium BC and has changed very little since then.
