The Linocut Prints
Fascinated by the unique nature of this nations way of life, cities and landscapes, Melvyn explores our sense of place. He examines the relationship between physical reality and tradition, the present and the past to create thought-provoking compositions.
Melvyn Evans' work exhibits a wonderful flow and delivers impressive visual impact via a limited number of colours. In many works he uses texture to soften the graphic nature of the artwork which is characteristic of linocut prints. The distressed surface also hints at the passage of time and so mirrors a thematic element of the imagery.
All linocut prints are signed and numbered limited editions and are printed by hand onto Somerset satin paper. Each piece in this collection is a striking work which would enhance the decorative scheme in your home. When hung individually the prints provide a wonderful focal point for any space. But you can create significant impact by displaying these prints in groups as the collection is unified by colour, style and theme.
