Nick Hebditch studied Fine Art at Canterbury College of Art and Nottingham. After a number of years working as a scenic artist in film and advertising followed by a period teaching Art in secondary schools, he has devoted the majority of his time to painting professionally.
Nicks painting, which for many years was dominated by architectural subject matter and cityscapes, has more recently developed to reflect his love of landscape closer to his Tonbridge home. He draws particular inspiration from the changing qualities of light at different times of day and reflected light in water. In his recent mixed media work, he has started to scrape and drag paint, extend paint with gel mediums, and sometimes create semi-translucent layers, using credit cards or palette knives.
Nick exhibits his work at a number of leading galleries around England and shows regularly at the Mall Galleries in London. He has been commissioned for many private and corporate projects including a number of new Royal Caribbean Liners and a London Underground Poster.
