Dubout - Porte-Bougie, Boule CeramicTealight

Albert Dubout was born in Marseille. After attending school at Nîmes (where he met Jean Paulhan) he studied at the fine arts school in Montpellier where he met his first wife, Renée Altier, and where his first drawings were published in the student journal L'écho des étudiants in 1923.  When the renowned French illustrator and caricaturist Albert Dubout puts his pen to paper to sketch his feline companions, he depicts his cats as we all know them: cats in multitudes and cats all alone, cats in mischief and cats at rest, cats with their kittens and cats in love, cats on the prowl and cats at their best.
